"They That Wait On God"
Isaiah 40:28-31 "Hast Thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the fainth; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." When we wait on God He will restore us, if you are feeling weary and faint remember what God has told you through this scripture and keep your mind stayed on the Lord. We have examples through out the Bible, of the people who waited on God to bring them out of their troubles. David in 1 Samuel 24:1-12 and 1 Samuel 26th chapter waited on God to bring him out of his troubles with Saul. Twice David had the opportunity to take Saul’s life because God delivered Saul into David’s hands to see what he would do. David was tested on every side but he wouldn’t harm Saul because he knew God didn’t instruct him to do so. If David had not waited on God’s instruction he would have ran ahead of God and killed Saul; David didn’t because he understood who Saul was and although Saul disobeyed God he was still God’s anointed . (1 Chronicles 16:22) "Touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm". David waited God to deal with Saul. Because David waited on God he became the King of Israel in place of Saul, just like God promised. God said He will never leave us or forsake us, God will not fail (Hebrew 13:5-6). God wants us to know that He is our helper, and that we don’t have to fear man or what man can do to us (Joshua 1:5). Job also waited on the Lord (Job 14:14), although he was afflicted and tormented in his flesh, Job would not curse God (Job 2:9-10 ampl), he believed God would bring him out of his state of condition. Job ‘s wife told him to renounce God, but he called her foolish and said to her, do you think we should trust God when everything is working to our favor, should we except only the good which comes from God and not the misfortunes. God tested Job: but God never tests us beyond our ability to endure. Job waited on God to bring a change into his life, he knew that he couldn’t sin against God with his lips even in his sufferings. Job’s strength wasn’t in himself or what he could do his strength was in knowing that God wouldn’t fail him: his trust and faith wasn’t in his riches or his children. God called Job an upright man a man who feared God and shunned evil; he was a true servant of God so he waited for his Master to move for him. Job’s integrity was in God’s word. God want us to wait patiently for him, (Romans 8:25). Wait on God quietly without complaining ( Lamentations 3:22-32). If we wait on God we will not be ashamed (Isaiah 49:23). My soul waits on God (Psalms 62:1-12). ( Psalms 27:14 ampl) Wait and hope for and expect the Lord be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes wait for and hope for and expect the Lord. Ten Ways to Wait for God:
